The approach and set-down for the MERL

The Museum of English Rural Life is a University of Reading museum, library and archive on Redlands Road. The Redlands Road address identifies the museum. Chauffeur arrival uses the adjacent University car park on Acacia Road under its current controls. Passenger handover uses that general car-park reference; no reserved or dedicated bay is claimed.

The booking records every collection, passenger, visit date and one travelling mobile. We plan against the times on your ticket, allowing for loading, traffic and the walk from set-down. Admission remains separate from the chauffeur booking.

A local visit can be kept as a focused return journey or joined to another confirmed Reading call, always planned against the passenger's ticket or reservation. A retained car covers a defined waiting itinerary; drop and collect creates two movements. Neither assumes waiting at the visitor entrance.

Pushchairs, mobility aids, research bags and hotel luggage are declared before collection; no museum storage is assumed. Passengers look after items taken inside. The passenger confirms the same Acacia Road car-park reference when ready for collection.

Confirmed travel uses complete addresses, arrival time, luggage and conditions at dispatch. The return can finish at the original address, another hotel, an airport or a home named in the booking.
