01 — Arrival plan

The approach and set-down for Oxford's colleges

The University of Oxford's colleges occupy separate sites across central Oxford rather than one visitor address. This page uses the council's Oxpens car park on Oxpens Road as one defensible central arrival for a private car. The chauffeur completes handover inside the public car park; individual college entrances remain walking destinations.

The booking records every collection, passenger, visit date and one travelling mobile. We plan against the times on your ticket, allowing for loading, traffic and the walk from set-down. Admission remains separate from the chauffeur booking.

02 — The complete load

Day bags and onward luggage travel together

Passenger numbers, occupied child seats, folded pushchairs, mobility equipment, shopping and hotel luggage are assessed as one load. FCET confirms the fleet class against what will actually be in the vehicle on the fullest movement.

03 — Drop and collect

A clear return plan for Oxford's colleges

  1. Collect from the complete home, hotel or airport address.
  2. Count passengers, pushchairs, mobility equipment and every bag.
  3. Follow current direction to a lawful visitor set-down.
  4. Agree one collection reference before the chauffeur leaves.
  5. Message when the whole party is ready to return.

04 — During the visit

Retained car or drop and collect at Oxford's colleges

The booking records which college or colleges matter and plans against the times on each passenger confirmation, with the walk from Oxpens included. A retained car covers a defined waiting itinerary; drop and collect creates two movements. Neither assumes waiting at the visitor entrance.

Day bags, mobility equipment and hotel cases are counted before travel, and luggage is not assumed to be accepted by any college. Passengers look after items taken inside. Collection returns to the agreed point inside Oxpens car park after one contact confirms the group has finished its walk.
