The London Book Fair exhibition hall in 2018

16–18 March 2027

Chauffeur travel for The London Book Fair 2027

A publishing-industry itinerary for the current ExCeL London edition, with each show day, meeting and onward address kept distinct.

01 — The current fair

Use the 2027 dates and ExCeL site

The London Book Fair's official visitor information lists the next edition for Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 March 2027 at ExCeL London. FCET records the fair name, the passenger's attendance day and the first fixed commitment rather than treating a three-day listing as one arrival time. The official 2027 address is One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16 1XL. That current ExCeL instruction matters because an older London Book Fair venue note is not a safe destination for this edition; the booking uses the current organiser listing supplied for 2027.

The fair brings the publishing community together for meetings, conference sessions and exhibitor conversations. A rights meeting, stand briefing or scheduled session can each set a different arrival target, so the traveller identifies the commitment that cannot move and allows time to enter independently. FCET places every home, office or hotel collection before that target. The itinerary does not assume that reaching the venue address means the passenger has reached a particular hall or stand; current admission information and the passenger's own appointment details complete the final indoor journey.

03 — Delegate groups

Separate editors, agents and exhibitors by movement

Several colleagues can travel together when their first commitment and later destination genuinely align. Where schedules divide, each vehicle receives a named passenger group, collection address and required arrival, with one lead traveller authorised to communicate a change for that car. This avoids copying one schedule across a publishing team whose members may have different meetings. A hotel-to-fair movement, an evening reception and a later airport or station transfer remain separate sectors even when FCET coordinates them within the same instruction.

Work bags, catalogues, presentation material and hotel cases are recorded with the full passenger count. The vehicle is assessed against the fullest planned sector, since an arrival carrying only day bags may be followed by an evening departure with luggage collected from a hotel. First Class can suit one or two principals who want rear-cabin room, while XL may suit a small team with more declared belongings. Passenger vehicles have finite luggage capacity, so unusually large display material must be described before confirmation and assessed separately.

05 — Service on the day

Publishing meetings stay attached to the right show day

The itinerary keeps each traveller, hotel collection, fair commitment and evening address separate, so a rights meeting or conference session is not reduced to a generic exhibition arrival.

06 — Three show days

Keep each morning and evening current

A multi-day booking records the date, hotel departure, passenger list and first fair commitment for every day. Travellers may change hotels, divide into different meetings or add an evening address, and each change is attached to the affected movement to keep the daily plan current. The chauffeur follows the public road position available on the booked day and the organiser information supplied by the passenger. The venue address does not promise access to an exhibition hall, loading area or controlled road, and no stopping or waiting right is inferred from it.

The lead passenger confirms when the group is ready and which onward address governs the car. FCET then confirms a usable public meeting reference; the outward arrival point is not automatically reused after the fair because the available road position can differ later in the day. Before travel, FCET checks the 2027 fair date, passenger group, collections, carried items and onward destinations as one record. Journey cost follows the agreed cars and sectors, while any new stop is assessed only after its timing and passenger effect are understood.
