Great Portland Street hospital travel

Chauffeur travel to The Portland Hospital

The main hospital, separate outpatient addresses and a return party that may differ from the outward journey each need their own place in the travel plan.

01 — Main address

Keep the full street number in the booking

HCA Healthcare UK currently lists The Portland Hospital at 205–209 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5AH, and identifies it as a private hospital. FCET records the complete destination on the visit confirmation with the required reporting time and collection address. The street number is useful here: a request using only the hospital name or Great Portland Street leaves out the particular building the passenger is attending.

02 — Other Portland buildings

Outpatient addresses remain separate destinations

HCA’s Portland outpatient directory lists 215 Great Portland Street at W1W 5PN and 32 Wimpole Street at W1G 8GT. These are separate published locations, rather than alternative spellings of the main hospital address. A visit confirmation naming an outpatient building therefore defines a different road destination. The booking discussion retains that number and postcode alongside any supplied reception details, including when a family is staying nearby and the starting address changes.

03 — Waiting arrangements

A longer booking needs a separate discussion

The Portland’s own visitor information says there is no on-site parking and that parking is not allowed in the driveway because it serves emergency vehicle access. Those restrictions matter when the requested journey includes time between arrival and return. A retained booking is discussed separately from the outward transfer, with the duration and return contact recorded before confirmation. The itinerary does not use the hospital driveway as an assumed waiting place during an appointment or admission.

05 — Passenger cabin

Describe who travels with the passenger

A family journey can have different people on its two directions. One companion might arrive from accommodation, another might join for the return, and bags may be added at a later collection. FCET records the people, belongings and intermediate addresses for the complete road itinerary. Business, Business Estate, XL, First and SUV are the maintained fleet classes; the vehicle discussion uses the full party and luggage information before the agreed cost is confirmed at booking.

06 — Leaving the site

Update the building as well as the time

A homeward journey from the main hospital needs its own final address, current contact and passenger details. A return from Wimpole Street or 215 Great Portland Street instead retains that separate building identity. When the finish is uncertain, FCET records a separate timing discussion; the passenger or family member can supply a ready-to-travel update with the collection location. Any subsequent accommodation stop remains an intermediate call in the return itinerary. Maintained chauffeur conduct includes punctuality, discretion and considerate assistance.
